The North Okanagan Therapeutic Riding Association (NOTRA) is a non-profit registered charity that was incorporated in 1984 and provides recreational horseback riding therapy for children and adults with special needs in the North Okanagan / Shuswap.
NOTRA is an independent therapeutic riding centre that operates under guidelines and standards laid out by the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association (CanTRA) and the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International.
Spring and Fall riding sessions are held at the scenic and central location of Historic O’Keefe Ranch north of Vernon, BC. Weekly lessons are offered Monday through Friday to between 80 – 90 clients and a team of over 50 volunteers supports the program donating their time to make what we do possible.
Our SPRING RIDING SESSION (April 10th – June 2nd) is now FULL!
Go to our “Become a Rider” page for details information about getting on the wait list.
With a full slate of riders we need MANY volunteers! Visit our ‘How Can I Volunteer?’ page to see how you can become part of the NOTRA Volunteer Family and help put a smile on the face of a special needs rider!
